Hey! I'm Jenn, an information designer and science storyteller based in Toronto.
(she/her)
I once wanted to be an astronaut. Space was beautiful and unknown and exhilarating. But what I loved most was the stories you could tell about space. I view narrative as the gravity that pulls together facts, data, and ideas.
I hold a MSc Biomedical Communications from the University of Toronto and a Hons. BSc in Neuroscience. I've collaborated with healthcare and research professionals to create a range of educational and commercial media. My overall goal is to turn scientific and complex knowledge into effective, engaging and accessible tools to reach a wider audience.
In my free time, I love rollerskating, crafting slab pottery, and making my cats wear silly hats. I'm also always reading something. Here's what I've got my nose stuck in lately:
- Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, Annie Dillard
- Immune, Philipp Dettmer, creator of Kurzgesagt
- Data Visualization Handbook, Juuso Koponen and Jonatan Hildén
I'm always learning new things and working on new projects. Let's tell a great story together!
